# Blockchair

On-chain address, transaction, and block dashboards across major chains.

URL: https://osintverse.com/docs/providers/blockchair

Blockchair on SearchIn returns dashboard views for crypto addresses, transactions, and blocks. Use the single `crypto` input with `chain kind identifier` (for example `bitcoin address 1A1zP1…`).

## Capabilities

* Address balance, received/spent totals, and first/last seen activity
* Recent transaction hashes for an address
* Transaction fees, totals, and input/output addresses
* Block height or hash with miner guess and included transactions

## Data

Blockchair indexes major UTXO and account-based chains. SearchIn v1 supports `bitcoin`, `bitcoin-cash`, `litecoin`, `bitcoin-sv`, `dogecoin`, `dash`, `groestlcoin`, `zcash`, `ethereum`, and `ethereum-classic`. Kind is `address`, `tx`, or `block`. A query returns the dashboard for one identifier on one chain.

## What you get back

* Balance and activity stats for addresses
* Input/output lists for transactions
* Block header summary with a capped transaction list

## UI workflow

Open SearchIn and choose Crypto.

Select the chain and kind (address, transaction, or block), then enter the identifier.

Review the dashboard card and pivot related entities on the graph.

## Sample queries

| Input type | Query | Notes |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| `crypto` | `bitcoin address 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa` | Genesis coinbase address |
| `crypto` | `bitcoin tx a1075db55d416d3ca199f55b6084e2115b9345e16c5cf302fc80e9d5fbf5d48d` | Transaction dashboard |
| `crypto` | `bitcoin block 0` | Genesis block |

## Pricing

`crypto` **$0.01**

## Best for

* Checking whether a wallet address has on-chain history before a case note
* Pivoting from a transaction hash to the addresses that funded or received it
* Confirming block height, time, and included txs without leaving SearchIn
* Pairing an address with OSINT Industries wallet modules on the same Crypto input

## How it works & why through OSINTverse

### How the request runs

1. Choose Crypto, pick a supported chain, and select address, transaction, or block.
2. SearchIn calls Blockchair’s dashboard endpoint for that chain and identifier.
3. Address lookups return balance and recent txs; transaction lookups return fees and IO; block lookups return header fields and a capped tx list.
4. Related addresses, txs, and blocks become graph nodes you can pivot across Blockchair.
5. Pair an address lookup with OSINT Industries wallet modules on the same crypto query for platform hits next to the on-chain dashboard.

**Coverage.** Blockchair covers major UTXO and account-based chains including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Bitcoin SV, Dogecoin, Dash, Groestlcoin, Zcash, Ethereum, and Ethereum Classic. SearchIn exposes a single `crypto` input for address, transaction, and block dashboards on those chains. Tron address lookups use OSINT Industries instead.

### Why route Blockchair through OSINTverse

- A $0.01 query returns a structured address, tx, or block card — no Blockchair explorer tab for a one-off check.
- Addresses and txs become graph nodes so you can walk funding paths inside a case.
- The same prepaid wallet covers Blockchair next to breach and domain providers.

| | Blockchair directly | Through OSINTverse |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Getting started | Blockchair exposes a public blockchain API with a daily free request ceiling for unauthenticated use, and optional API keys for higher volume. SearchIn uses the dashboard endpoints and does not require you to hold a Blockchair key for ordinary testing volume. | Sign in, top up from $10, and run Blockchair the same minute — no vendor contract, seat, or sales call. |
| What a query costs | Plan, credit pack, or contract pricing set by the vendor and paid up front. | Pay per query from your prepaid balance — Blockchair starts at $0.01 for crypto lookups, with the exact price shown before you run it. |
| Failed lookups | Handled under the vendor's own credit and refund policy. | Automatically refunded to your wallet — a search that fails upstream after billing is not charged. |
| Output format | A vendor-specific response shape you normalise and render yourself. | Normalised result panels plus the raw JSON, returned by the same POST /v1/search contract as every other integration. |
| Cross-source work | Copy-paste between vendor dashboards to follow a lead into another dataset. | Results join one case graph, so you can pivot an entity into any of the other 16 integrations in a click. |
| Running it for a team | Per-seat or per-account access, billed and administered per analyst. | One shared team wallet with roles, provider allowlists, enforced MFA, and audit history — no per-seat fee. |
| Volume work | Script the vendor API yourself, including retries, polling, and rate handling. | Bulk search takes up to 50 queries across selected providers in one submission (max 100 jobs), with per-job status and partial-failure handling. |

- **One wallet, no subscriptions.** Top up prepaid USD from $10 and spend it a query at a time across all 17 integrations. No monthly fee, no seat count — and the balance never expires.
- **Failed searches are refunded.** If an upstream provider errors or times out after the charge, the search is marked refunded and the money goes back to your wallet automatically.
- **One API for every source.** The same POST /v1/search contract and x-api-key header work for every integration, so adding a source to your automation is a one-word change.
- **Cases and pivot graph.** Results land in a named case you can reopen. Entities become graph nodes you can pivot from into any other integration without retyping.
- **Team wallets and controls.** Share one balance with roles, provider allowlists, enforced MFA, and audit history — instead of buying a vendor seat for every analyst.
- **Exports built in.** Download any result as JSON, CSV, or PDF, and export the case graph as PNG, SVG, entities CSV, or graph JSON.

### Good to know

- You must supply the chain. An address that is valid on more than one network needs the correct slug.
- Long transaction and block lists are capped in the structured panel; raw JSON keeps the upstream payload.
- Blockchair’s free daily ceiling is IP-limited. Heavy production traffic needs a Blockchair API key on the SearchIn backend.

## API example

Try `blockchair` free with mock data in the API sandbox: https://osintverse.com/developers/sandbox

> Invalid `provider` + `input_type` pairs return HTTP 422. Confirm combinations with [GET /v1/providers](https://osintverse.com/docs/api/overview) or the [pricing matrix](https://osintverse.com/docs/pricing). Query format is `chain kind identifier`.
