# Facecheck.id

Facial recognition matches from a photo file or public image URL.

URL: https://osintverse.com/docs/providers/facecheck

Facecheck.id compares a query image against indexed faces and returns scored web matches with thumbnails and source URLs. Searches may run asynchronously — SearchIn polls until results complete.

## Capabilities

* Reverse-face search from an uploaded photo or image URL
* Confidence scores and platform hints from match URLs
* Filter matches by score and host / platform text
* Async job support with automatic polling in the UI

## Data

[FaceCheck](https://facecheck.id/) indexes faces from public web pages and lists these sources: social media, news and blogs, videos, mugshots, sex-offender sites, and scammer listings. Its published score bands are **90–100** certain, **83–89** confident, **70–82** uncertain, and **50–69** weak. FaceCheck says its AI is trained not to index children’s faces, that unrelated people can look alike, and that results are not for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant decisions. SearchIn filters matches at 90%+, 80%+, and 70%+.

## What you get back

* Query image preview
* Score filters (90%+, 80%+, 70%+)
* Thumbnail grid with outbound links
* Source metadata (totals, search id, timing)

## UI workflow

Choose Image, then upload a photo or paste a direct image URL.

Select Facecheck.id.

Wait for completion if status is running, then filter high-confidence hits.

* Cross-checking social profile pictures
* Visual OSINT alongside text identifiers

## How it works & why through OSINTverse

### How the request runs

1. Choose Image, then upload a photo or paste a direct image URL.
2. SearchIn submits the image to Facecheck.id, which may return an asynchronous job.
3. SearchIn polls that job to completion for you — no search ID tracking or retry logic on your side.
4. Scored matches render as a thumbnail grid with source links, filterable by confidence and host.

**Coverage.** FaceCheck indexes faces from public web pages: social media, news and blogs, videos, mugshots, sex-offender sites, and scammer listings. It publishes match bands from 50 to 100 and says a face match alone is not an identification.

### Why route Facecheck.id through OSINTverse

- SearchIn polls the async job until it completes, so a face search behaves like every other query.
- File upload and image URL both run through the same POST /v1/search call.
- Score filters (90%+, 80%+, 70%+) and host filtering are built into the result panel.

|  | Facecheck.id directly | Through OSINTverse |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Getting started | Facecheck.id sells credits against its own account and API token, and its API returns asynchronous jobs you have to poll yourself. | Sign in, top up from $10, and run Facecheck.id the same minute — no vendor contract, seat, or sales call. |
| What a query costs | Plan, credit pack, or contract pricing set by the vendor and paid up front. | Pay per query from your prepaid balance — Facecheck.id starts at $0.50 for image lookups, with the exact price shown before you run it. |
| Failed lookups | Handled under the vendor's own credit and refund policy. | Automatically refunded to your wallet — a search that fails upstream after billing is not charged. |
| Output format | A vendor-specific response shape you normalise and render yourself. | Normalised result panels plus the raw JSON, returned by the same POST /v1/search contract as every other integration. |
| Cross-source work | Copy-paste between vendor dashboards to follow a lead into another dataset. | Results join one case graph, so you can pivot an entity into any of the other 16 integrations in a click. |
| Running it for a team | Per-seat or per-account access, billed and administered per analyst. | One shared team wallet with roles, provider allowlists, enforced MFA, and audit history — no per-seat fee. |
| Volume work | Script the vendor API yourself, including retries, polling, and rate handling. | Bulk search takes up to 50 queries across selected providers in one submission (max 100 jobs), with per-job status and partial-failure handling. |

- **One wallet, no subscriptions.** Top up prepaid USD from $10 and spend it a query at a time across all 17 integrations. No monthly fee, no seat count — and the balance never expires.
- **Failed searches are refunded.** If an upstream provider errors or times out after the charge, the search is marked refunded and the money goes back to your wallet automatically.
- **One API for every source.** The same POST /v1/search contract and x-api-key header work for every integration, so adding a source to your automation is a one-word change.
- **Cases and pivot graph.** Results land in a named case you can reopen. Entities become graph nodes you can pivot from into any other integration without retyping.
- **Team wallets and controls.** Share one balance with roles, provider allowlists, enforced MFA, and audit history — instead of buying a vendor seat for every analyst.
- **Exports built in.** Download any result as JSON, CSV, or PDF, and export the case graph as PNG, SVG, entities CSV, or graph JSON.

### Good to know

- Matches are similarity scores, not identifications. FaceCheck’s own warning is that unrelated people can look alike.
- Coverage is public pages FaceCheck has indexed: social media, news, video, mugshots, sex-offender sites, and scammer listings. A no-match is not proof of absence.
- FaceCheck says it does not index children’s faces, and that results must not be used for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant decisions.
