Free OSINT tool
Blackbird OSINT online
Search a username across the WhatsMyName list, or check which services an email is registered on, the way Blackbird does.
Runs Blackbird by Lucas Antoniaci (p1ngul1n0) (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). 654 sites from WebBreacher/WhatsMyName@4397f1f, synced 2026-10-14. Not affiliated with the project.
How Blackbird works here
For usernames, Blackbird runs the WhatsMyName dataset: a site counts only when the status code and the profile text both match. We do the same.
For emails, Blackbird keeps its own list of 15 services with public account-lookup endpoints. Some take the email as-is; Gravatar takes a hash of it. We send the same requests and read the answers with Blackbird's rules.
Blackbird's optional AI summary and PDF export are not part of the online version. Results can be downloaded as CSV or JSON.
How to read the results
- Found
- For usernames, a matching profile. For emails, the service says an account uses this address.
- Not found
- The site or service answered like there is no account.
- Could not check
- Timed out, rate-limited, or blocked.
What this free check cannot tell you
- Email checks rely on services that reveal whether an address is registered; when a service closes that door, its check stops working until Blackbird's list is updated.
- A registered email shows an account exists, not who uses it or when it was made.
- Username hits share the name, not necessarily the person.
When the free check is not enough
Blackbird shows where accounts exist. SearchIn adds the identity modules and breach records that tell you who is behind them.
What people use it for
- One page for both a handle and an email
- Checking which services an email address signed up for
- A precise username pass using the WhatsMyName rules

FAQ
Blackbird, answered
Is this the same as running Blackbird?
It runs the same data: the WhatsMyName list for usernames and Blackbird's email list, with Blackbird's matching rules. The request engine is ours, so there is nothing to install.
Does the email check alert the account owner?
The checks use public lookup endpoints, such as a signup form asking whether an address is taken. They do not send password resets or messages.
Who made Blackbird?
Lucas Antoniaci (p1ngul1n0). The code and its email list are licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0; the username list is WhatsMyName's, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0.
Do you store what I search?
No. The username, email, phone, or domain you enter is sent in the request body, never in a URL, and it is not logged. Results are cached for a few hours under a one-way hash of the input so a repeat search is fast, then they expire.
Why is this free?
Because the first pass should cost nothing. These checks use open-source tools and free public data. When a result needs commercial data, such as people-search modules or breach records, SearchIn runs those as paid lookups with a receipt.
