Quiztime
Julia Bayer, Fiete Stegers, and volunteer quizmasters
Geolocation and chronolocation puzzles from journalists, started in 2017 and once daily. Now roughly monthly on Bluesky, with a Monday quiz still running. Short, hard, and still worth following.
Quiztime began on Twitter in 2017 when Deutsche Welle's Julia Bayer started posting where-and-when-was-this-taken puzzles from her own photos. It became a daily habit for journalists learning verification. Activity has thinned: the Bluesky account reposts quizzes about monthly in 2025 and 2026, the Mastodon feed is empty, and the daily cadence is no longer evident. The Monday quiz and the quizmasters' own accounts carry on.
Quieter than its reputation. Still posting in 2026, but not daily. Follow the quizmasters directly for more.

- You learn from reading other people's reasoning in replies
- You are a journalist and want practice in the verification tradition
Skip it if
- You expect a puzzle every day; that era has passed
- You want written walkthroughs; solutions live in reply threads
