Frequently asked questions
- What are the best OSINT communities for beginners?
- Start with a rules-heavy Discord (Bellingcat or similar) and one structured practice community (Trace Labs). Read pinned rules before you post, and never share real-case personal data.
- Does OSINTverse run these communities?
- Almost none of them. This is a curated directory. OSINTCon and our social accounts are ours and labeled as such. Everything else belongs to its own hosts and moderators.
- Can I promote my tool in these communities?
- Usually no without permission. Vendor spam burns trust. Share methods; let people ask about tools.
From community to practice
Most communities on this list are run by others. SearchIn is optional when you want a prepaid desk for the providers those chats mention.
