Kase Scenarios
Espen Ringstad, Aaron Roberts, and team
Immersive, story-driven OSINT cases you buy one at a time, with one free to try. The closest thing to running a real investigation without a real subject.
Kase Scenarios sells individual scenarios instead of lessons: a cyberstalking case for a national crime agency, a politician's missing daughter, a special-operations risk assessment, a data-breach operative hunt. Each is a narrative with media, challenges, and hints, built by working analysts. One scenario is free; the rest are priced by length and complexity.
Worth it if
- CTF flags feel fragmented and you want to run a case end to end
- You learn by being dropped into a situation with a brief and a deadline
- You are preparing for interviews or an exam that grades a full report
- You train a team and want shared scenarios with a debrief
Skip it if
- You still need the fundamentals; scenarios assume you know the basic techniques
- You want lectures that explain a technique before asking you to use it
- You are uncomfortable with fictional but realistic material on stalking, abuse, or violence

What you will be able to do
- Take a brief, plan collection, and keep a case moving when leads dry up
- Work across people, social, imagery, and document evidence in one investigation
- Produce findings that answer the brief rather than list everything you found
- Judge your own pace and gaps against a scenario's expected path
How current it is
Established in 2023 with new scenarios still being announced. Scenarios are self-contained, so they age slowly; the techniques they expect you to know are the ones that change.

How to get the most from it
- 01
Do the free one properly
Write a short report for it even though nobody asks. If that felt good, buy a beginner scenario.
- 02
Use hints late
Set a rule: no hint until you have been stuck for thirty minutes and written down what you tried.
- 03
Debrief in writing
After each scenario, list the technique that unblocked you and the one you did not know. That list is your next purchase.
Strengths

- Built by analysts who still do the work
- Buy only what you will finish
Limitations
- Not a teaching course; it tests and stretches rather than instructs
- No published durations or certificates
- Independent reviews are thin and some reviewers know the founders
